HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING YOUR ART?
I started doing makeup pretty much right out of high school at age 18. So I’ve been practicing my craft for about 10 going on 11 years.
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
On an everyday basis and for most jobs I just use cosmetic and beauty products. Sometimes for fashion and print work I get to come up with some more outside –the-box looks which can involve random things from the craft store such as sequins, glitter, rhinestones, beads, fabric , and other random things. When I’m doing my FX work I use alcohol or water based face paints, waxes, silicone, and liquid latex.
WHERE NATIONALLY AND/OR INTERNATIONALLY HAVE YOU HAD YOUR WORK SHOWN?
I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing people which have led to my work being seen nationwide. The latest big magazines I had my work published in was ESPN Magazine in November of 2016 and most recently Family Circle Magazine in March 2017. I have also had multiple works published in fashion magazines that you can find online. I also had the privilege to work back stage at the World Wide Hair Tour in Los Angeles California in January of 2016. That show was an amazing opportunity, and I got to work with some of the biggest names in hair, modeling, and makeup.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST WHEN YOU PRACTICE YOUR ART?
As a fulltime makeup artist at a salon during the week, the part I love most is helping people feel great about themselves and teaching my clients tips and techniques they can take with them to better help their own makeup routines.
However, my favorite part about being a makeup artist is working in fashion and print. I absolutely LOVE working with a team to create beautiful images and looks. There is something magical about coming together with a photographer, model, hair stylist, and wardrobe stylist and each of us using our talents to create a feeling. There is nothing like working all day on set and a few weeks later being able to see these beautiful photos in print or on stage.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?
I have a few, but lately, this one really connects with me.
“Making a big fat deal out of anything is absurd. It makes much more sense to go after life with a sense of, “Why not?” instead of a furrowed brow. One of the best things I ever did was make my motto “I just wanna see what I can get away with.” It takes all the pressure off, puts the punk rock attitude in, and reminds me that life is but a game.”

¿CUANTO TIEMPO HAS ESTADO HACIENDO TU ARTE?
Comencé a hacer maquillaje al salir de la escuela secundaria a los 18 años. Así que he estado practicando mi arte alrededor de 10 u 11 años.
¿QUÉ MATERIALES UTILIZAS?
Diariamente y para la mayoría de los trabajos apenas uso cosméticos y productos de belleza. A veces para la moda y el trabajo de impresión tengo que innovar con ideas únicas que puede implicar cosas al azar de la tienda de artesanías, tales como lentejuelas, brillos, diamantes de imitación, cuentas, tela y otras cosas al azar. Cuando estoy haciendo mi trabajo de FX uso el alcohol o el agua a base de pinturas de cara, ceras, silicona y látex líquido.
¿DÓNDE NACIONAL O INTERNACIONALMENTE HAS MOSTRADO TU TRABAJO?
He tenido la suerte de trabajar con algunas personas increíbles que han llevado a mi trabajo ha ser visto en todo el país. Las últimas revistas grandes en las que hice publico mi trabajo fueron, la revista ESPN en noviembre de 2016 y más recientemente la revista Family Circle en marzo de 2017. También he publicado varios trabajos en revistas de moda que puedes encontrar en línea. Tuve el privilegio de trabajar de nuevo en el World Wide Hair Tour en Los Ángeles, California, en enero de 2016. Ese programa fue una oportunidad increíble, y me puse a compartir mi labor con algunos de los nombres más grandes en el cabello, modelado y maquillaje.
¿QUÉ DISFRUTAS MÁS CUANDO PRACTICAS TU ARTE?
Como artista de maquillaje de tiempo completo en un salón durante la semana, la parte que más me gusta, es ayudar a la gente a sentirse muy bien acerca de sí mismos y enseñar a mis clientes consejos y técnicas que pueden tomar con ellos para ayudar mejor a sus propias rutinas de maquillaje. Sin embargo, mi parte favorita es trabajar en la moda y la impresión. Me encanta trabajar con un equipo para crear hermosas imágenes y apariencia. Hay algo mágico en reunirse con un fotógrafo, modelo y estilista de vestuario y cada uno de nosotros usando nuestros talentos para crear un sentimiento. No hay nada como trabajar todo el día en el set y unas semanas después ser capaz de ver estas hermosas fotos en la impresión o en el escenario.
¿CUÁL ES TU FRASE FAVORITA?
Tengo unas pocas, pero últimamente, este realmente se conecta conmigo.
«Hacer una gran cosa de cualquier cosa es absurdo. Tiene mucho más sentido ir tras la vida con un sentido de «¿Por qué no?» En lugar de una ceja fruncida. Una de las mejores cosas que hice fue hacer mi lema «Sólo quiero ver lo que puedo conseguir con.» Se quita toda la presión, pone la actitud punk rock y me recuerda que la vida es sólo un juego «. -Jen Sincero
